Thank you for visiting my blog! My blog entries are about my healing journey and recovery from Lyme Disease.

From the years 2002 - 2007 I suffered with symptoms of late-stage Neuroborreliosis, most commonly referred to as CNS (Central Nervous System) Tertiary or Chronic Lyme Disease.

Since 1999, I had unknowingly been infected with Lyme Disease. My illness went undiagnosed, leaving the medical community and doctors baffled at my endless list of bizarre symptoms, giving it the name Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome (CFIDS).

In December of 2005, I was accurately diagnosed with Lyme Disease, along with the coinfections of Babesia, Bartonella, Erlichiosis and Mycoplasma Pneumonia. As of 2007, through treatments with my amazing doctors, all infections became inactive and I was considered to be in temporary remission.

I continue to celebrate being Lyme and coinfection-free! While I still have some distance to go to rebuild my body and strengthen my immune system, I am overjoyed with this miracle I have been blessed with. I pray not only that my healing continues, but that others can also heal from this debilitating illness.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Is invasion of the tissues from without - by bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens - the only way by which human tissues are injured? Can disease come from other means? Shouldn't man's constitutional and environmental conditions also be considered? Hasn't the time come to expand our notions of illness and treatment beyond Pasteur's bacterial infection theory? Can it be possible that germs are merely a concomitant of disease, present in all of us but able to multiply in a sick individual because of disturbed function?

In seeking answers to these questions I left (the conventional medical paradigm) and went off on another road... I came to the conclusion that germs do no initiate a diseased state of the body but appear later after a person becomes ill.

Words cannot express my thanks to the doctors, practitioners, family members, and friends that have helped and supported me through this healing process. This has been a team effort! From the deepest part of my heart, I give all of you thanks - for loving me enough to care.

While I cannot name my doctors for legal reasons, I send them my deepest gratitude and love for eternity. In the past few years I have traveled to opposite ends of the continents just to work with them - and they are considered the best physicians in the world. Everyday, they take great risks, just to treat me and others - because it is what they believe in. Thank you to my doctors and practitioners for representing truth while being strong enough to seek it out and stand in the light. I am blessed and humbled to know your genius.

COMING SOON...My Database Of Health Information

For a period of two years during my illness, I was unable to have the strength to move. When I was not bedridden, I propped myself up by my computer for hours - doing research on health and assessing information that might possibly help me to heal. Even though I could not move, I still had my mind (in between episodes of brain fog of course)... and so I used the only asset available to me - my ability to read and learn information. I learned more in two years than I have learned my entire life.

I am in the process of building a database of this health information to share. This information will be available to anyone via Lick The Tick Foundation on the web who would like to have information on treatments, diet and supplements that have been particularly useful to me.

I have been given so much from my family, friends and doctors who have loved and supported me through this journey. This is now my opportunity to give back.
